# Moore fractal

## World's simplest fractal tool

This utility lets you draw colorful, personalized Moore fractals. It offers you a bunch of options to create the fractal you want. In particular, you can specify fractal's vertical and horizontal dimensions (in pixels), set fractal's color and curve thickness, and change fractal's spatial orientation. Fun fact – Moore's fractal is unique among space-filling fractals because it's the only closed-loop fractal. What that means is the start of the curve always meets the end of the curve. What is a moore fractal?

This online browser-based tool allows you to visualize Moore fractals. The Moore fractal, named after American mathematician Eliakim Hastings Moore is a famous plane-filling curve. It is similar to Hilbert and Peano fractals as it has the same recursive structure but the main difference is in the positions of the starting and ending points of the curve. In Hilbert and Peano fractals, the curve starts and ends in the adjacent or opposite corners of the space but the Moore curve starts and ends in neighboring points. If you increase the iterations, these points can get as close as you like. Mind blowing and ingenious at the same time, or as we love to say – fractabulous!

Five Iterations of Moore Fractal

This example generates the Moore curve with five iteration step. The fractal curve is drawn on a pompadour-colored canvas with dimensions of 800x800 pixels. The curve itself is 6px thick and in white color.

**Required options**

Modify the fractal's order.
(Number of iterations).

Fractal width.

Fractal height.

Fractal's background color.

Fractal's curve color.

Fractal's curve width.

Padding around canvas edges.

A Horizontal Moore Curve

In this example, we set fractal's recursions to 3 levels, fractal's width to 800 pixels and height to 600 pixels. Thus, we get a third-order Moore fractal that's horizontally stretched. We also set the indentation around the fractal to 25 pixels and curve's width to 8 pixels.

Moore Maze

This example draws the Moore maze. The Moore maze is a Moore fractal that uses the green color for the curve. It has its name from the fact that it looks just like a hedge maze. This particular maze is vertically stretched with the size of 900x1200px and depth of 4 iterations.

**Required options**

Modify the fractal's order.
(Number of iterations).

Fractal width.

Fractal height.

Fractal's background color.

Fractal's curve color.

Fractal's curve width.
